q51 PANalyzer
Probe and analyze 802.15.4, Zigbee, and 6LoWPAN networks remotely using the Q51 PANalyzer and Wireshark®.
probe
Protocol analysis of an 802.15.4 personal area network (PAN) isn’t always easy when your workstation or laptop is tethered to a USB dongle. A desktop might not be close enough to the PAN, even with a maximum length (5m or 16.4′) USB cable extension. Worse, it may not be possible to place a single dongle within reception range of every node in a large PAN. And if you need to analyze a distant customer’s PAN, it’s a trip out of the office.
Forwarding airborne packets across an Ethernet/IP network solves all these problems. One or more Q51 transceivers can be placed to cover an entire PAN, however large, and connected over a local area network or the internet to a desktop anywhere in the world.
Installation of the Q51 is quick and easy with DHCP. Once your Q51 is configured, you can manage it using its web and ssh servers.
analyze
Received packets from each Q51 are time-stamped and forwarded to Wireshark. Wireshark is an industry-standard, open, cross-platform protocol analyzer. Wireshark supports a comprehensive set of filtering, triggering, and inspection tools, with Exegin-contributed protocol dissectors for 802.15.4, 6LoWPAN, and Zigbee. Have your own private profiles? No problem—you can modify the open source dissectors and watch your products work.
