EXEGIN ANNOUNCES Wi-SUN FAN 1.1 CERTIFICATION

Exegin Technologies, a global leader in embedded software protocol stacks, is announcing the certification of its Wi-SUN FAN 1.1 Q88 LBR and Q89 LR Platforms:

  • Full FAN 1.0 plus extension on FAN 1.0
  • Full support for FAN 1.1 High Performance feature with support for FSK and OFDM modulations, at bit rates up to 2.4Mbps and link based mode negotiation between bit rates and modulations

The platforms rely on Exegin’s Q59 PHY certified Radio Module for:

  • 902-928MHz (NA/BZ), 920-928MHz (JP), and;
  • 863-876MHz (EU1/EU2/EU3/IN/SG1)

The certification covers FSK and OFDM modulations, at all symbol rates and includes multi-rate support.

** note that FAN 1.1 Low Energy, battery power device support feature is under development by the Wi-SUN Alliance and is not yet certifiable. Exegin will have per-release versions available for testing soon.

Exegin Technologies, a global leader in embedded software protocol stacks, is announcing the certification of its Zigbee Smart Energy, SE 1.4a Meter Q55S.

A Smart Energy 1.4a Meter Implementation based off the Q555 R22 Compliant Platform and running the Q555 Exegin SE 1.4 Golden Unit application binary from 2023’s SE 1.4a SVE 2.

The SE 1.4a Meter Implementation is suitable for Smart Energy profile testing.

EXEGIN ANNOUNCES Wi-SUN SUPPORT FOR SILICON LABS SYSTEM ON CHIP

Exegin Technologies, a global leader in embedded software protocol stacks, is announcing a major development in industrial mesh networking. Exegin has successfully adapted its Wi-SUN FAN 1.0 implementation to the Silicon Labs EFR32 series of System on Chip devices.

This development will enable Smart Meter and Smart City equipment manufactures to finally consider deploying Silicon Lab’s System on Chip devices into the rapidly growing Wi-SUN market.

The implementation involves a division of MAC and Networking Layers between the EFR32 series and a host processor. This provides many advantages to the system designer:

  • Flexible implementation architectures for Local Border Routers, Local Routers, and Leaf Nodes>
  • Ability to run under Real-Time Operating Systems such as Free RTOS or pre-emptive multi-tasking operating systems such as Linux
  • Creates architecture to cater to multiple PHY devices such as those that support both RF and Power Line Carrier
